I may be a bit behind on sharing Becca Cosmetics Skin Love Weightless Blur Foundation, but better late than never, right? Some of you may have already picked this one up and given it a try so I’ll appreciate your feedback on it as well, because it’s always nice to hear from a few sources rather than just one, right?
If you haven’t tried the Skin Love Weightless Blur Foundation, you’ll want to know that this is considered a medium coverage, natural finish foundation. It comes in 24 shades in the warm, golden, neutral and cool categories.
I’m a fan of the packaging, with it being a flexible squeezy tube with a pump top making it a good travel choice since there’s no glass and it’s on the smaller size in my opinion. One full pump was more than enough for my face and I had to scale back slightly to get the right amount dispensed. So a little goes a long way. It’s also on the thicker side making it easy to apply with your hands much like a sunscreen so you can skip the brush (if you want). I like to go over it with a damp blender to thin out a bit for a light to medium coverage finish.
I played with this foundation on and off for over a month or two. During that time I was a big fan of using primers because they worked with my other foundations well and when you get into a routine, you tend to stick to it without realizing. No matter how many times I tried this foundation with primers it just didn’t seem to stay well for me. I tried poreless primers, moisturizing primers and even matte primers trying to see which would make this foundation a team player and it was a major fail.
But in the name of beauty blogging science, I pushed on. I scaled back on what products I put on my face before applying this primer and figured out the sweet combo that worked well for my 30+, on the drier side skin. I spritz my face with a moisturizing spritz like Pixi Beauty Rose Glow Mist or Colorescience Hydrating Mist, and follow with the Rose Caviar Essence, then apply the foundation. The trend I was FINALLY picking up on was that my skin needed to be hydrated but not covered in a cream moisturizer or any primers. They also recommend trying it over Skin Love Glow Elixir which had similar results for me.
With the correct combination of products on my face I was happy with the wear and feel of it throughout the day. Makeup goes on usually around 9-10 in the morning and gets washed off around 5 pm. And I always love using my favorite palette EVER with this foundation; the BECCA x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face palette (please Becca Cosmetics, NEVER, EVER discontinue this, it’s perfection in a palette).
Would I say this foundation is a must? It might be for someone who like to teeter between lightweight coverage aided by a damp beauty blender, or needs fuller coverage on those days where you want a little more help. I know I’ll be keeping three shades in my foundation rotation drawer because it suits my skin well.
Have you tried the Skin Love Weightless Blur Foundation? What are your thoughts?
